Mothers Day

Thursday, May 24, 2012
It has been one busy week at work and we have not really taken many pictures lately. Therefore I will leave you with one from Mothers Day a couple weeks ago. We had a really sweet time celebrating with my grandmother at brunch.

Operation Closet: Almost done!

Friday, May 18, 2012
Anyone who has been around us for the past couple of months know the saga that our closet installation has been. Here is the cliff's notes version: we were told installation would be the first week in April...and here we are the 3rd week in May and they are finally in!

We are still missing a couple pieces (valet rods, belt racks, etc). But I have no worry we won't get them since we still have not finished paying them. Regardless of all the drama...we love our closets!

Here are a couple pictures of the finished (well almost finished) master closet:

My side of the closet. Look at all that room for shoes! : )

Andrew's side of the closet. I promise he has more clothes than this...he just hasn't had time to hang them up yet.

We still have a couple of finishing touches to do ourselves too. I ordered mini chandeliers from pottery barn kids to hang from the ceiling and am looking for a cute small ottoman to go in the middle. What a difference it makes! I think I have some before pictures somewhere...but I think I might be too embarrassed to show what our closet has looked like for the past 2 years.

Weekend in the great outdoors

Thursday, May 10, 2012
Last weekend I had the chance to get out of town, and out of cell phone service, for a few days with some of my best girl friends from work. We left friday at lunch and headed north to Fall Creek Falls State Park in Tennessee. I have not camped in forever, and am definitely not the most well versed at putting up tents, building fires, and cooking on a propane stove. But luckily the other girls were and we had a great time!

It was awesome to get away from the busyness of work and life and focus on God's creation and spend time with sweet friends.

Our awesome campsite with our camp chairs and fire pit.

Our tent...what you can't see from this picture are the three air mattresses inside. We slept in comfort.

Perhaps the thing I was most looking forward to was roasting marshmallows and making s'mores. And it did not disappoint.

Just beautiful

We stopped at this place called Buzzard's roost. Pretty self explanatory...but it was a great chance to pull out the new camera and play around with the zoom lens.

A little family of deer came grazing behind (right behind) our campsite multiple times a day.

We all had a lot of time to catch up on our bible studies. I thought it was neat that we each had a bible study on a different book of the bible written by a different women's bible teacher. There is something amazing about studying God's word outside in His creation.

HudsonAlpha Spring Benefit

Wednesday, May 2, 2012
Last thursday night was HudsonAlpha's annual spring benefit. Every year the benefit has a focus and this year it was on Type 2 Diabetes research. We spent most of the night working, so there weren't many pictures taken. But here we are all fancy before the event.
