The one where Perry turned 6 months old

Perry you are SIX months old. I can't believe half a year has gone by. I think it is time to officially start thinking about someone's first birthday party because I fear the next six months will pass just as quickly as the first.

Here are a few of the things you have been up to this past month:

  • You got your first tooth! One of the front bottom ones. Dr. Ellis says about half of babies have one or both of those bottom teeth at six months. Good job growing teeth buddy!
  • You are 16 pounds 15 ounces (40%ile)...more than double your birth weight.
  • You are 26.4 inches long (55%ile).
  • You are still such a great sleeper, sleeping 10 hours or so at night. You had a couple of days where you woke up in the middle of the night when your tooth was breaking through.
  • You are doing great with solid foods. We are trying all sorts of things. You have had quite a few stage 1 baby foods. You love squash but hate all things green.
  • We have also started some table food (with the blessing of your Aunt Emily, the pediatric dietician). You have had cherrios, puffs, bananas, squash casserole, mashed potatoes, peaches, watermelon and whatever else we are having that we can mash/break up.
  • You sit really well in highchairs and shopping carts now.
  • No more infant carseats for you. You have moved on to the convertable carseat.
  • You are the happiest baby I have ever known. You will smile and smile at anyone and everyone. When we are out in public it is like you try to make eyes at every stranger that passes to get attention from them.
  • You are getting so close to crawling. You can push up on all fours and rock back and forth. I think crawling will be on the accomplishment list for next month.
  • You spent your 6 month birthday in Auburn, AL with lots of relatives for your great grandma Perry's memorial service. It was a sweet day. Then we headed over to Big Canoe, GA for the 4th of July holiday where we took your 6 month pictures.

Love that sweet smile!

Love,
Mommy and Daddy
