The one with a long awaited W

"On to vict'ry, strike up the band."

Those words came true again last night for our beloved tigers. We were shakey and there is definitely a lot of room for improvement, but a W is a W.

We had a fun day on campus. Did a little more shopping, ate out traditional turkey wrap meal at Amsterdam Cafe, and found some air conditioned places to watch the other games of the day.

We had great seats for the game, around some awesome fellow auburn fans (it's always a gamble when you order online tickets...whether you will be seated around classy auburn grads or drunken Jim Bob from the trailer park...we were relieved for it to be the former). It was incredibly hot and humid. At least the temps cooled down by kickoff but the humidity was relentless leaving us all with a constant feeling like we just got out of a shower.

We thankfully had a little cotton onesie a friend's mom embroidered for Perry with us. It was nice to be able to change him into something more cool and comfortable for the game.

P was already looking a little weary even before kick off.

But then he got a second wind. He loved all the people around to give him attention. I even looked up behind us once and caught a lady taking a picture of him. When she saw I was watching her, she just said "he is just so cute." Thank you!?! Wonder what she is going to do with that picture.

Perry got passed back and forth between our laps all evening. And look at that poor hair! The humidity was not kind to it.

We made it about 5 minutes into the 3rd quarter. Then this happened.

So we headed out, and listened to the rest of the game on the radio driving back to Gigi's in Lafayette.

Perry was such a trooper all day. He took an early morning nap at Gigi's but really didn't get another nap all day. The one time he fell asleep in his stroller, we promptly woke him for a photo op with Aubie...I know parenting at its best. But look how cute these pictures are, and how many 8 month olds have been held by Aubie?!?

I am hoping his lack of meltdown in Aubie's arms bodes well for how he will do with Disney characters in October.

Trick for Aubie pictures...alumni tent right when it opens. Aubie is always there for a few minutes before he heads to tiger walk.

It is definitely different navigating gameday with a little one (and we are learning what restaurants have baby changing stations...hint neither Amsterdams or Aricias). But it is fun on a whole new level.

We cheered in the car as auburn held on to win the game. And we all slept very well and happy last night. Visions of bowl games might have actually danced in our heads. Yay for a successful football Saturday at the loveliest village on the plains. Hopefully he Gus Bus will keep on rolling.

Perry and Gigi getting some last minute snuggles before we headed home today.
