The one before vacation

We officially left on vacation today! The last couple of weeks have been a bit of a blur with all the traveling and I am still working on coming out of work mode and convincing myself I can relax and do nothing but spend time with my family for awhile.

Between the work trip to Anaheim and vacation, I had another work trip down to Tuscaloosa. We were hosting another GREAT educator workshop, and got to spend 2 days getting to know and training ~80 life science teachers. It was a full couple of days but went really well.

To be completely honest, Tuscaloosa is not my favorite city; and the rebel that I am, I slept in an Auburn T-shirt every night (walking on the wild side I know). But one pro of spending time on bama's campus was getting to see the new DG house in person. DG re-colonized at bama a couple years ago and built a spectacular house. A co-worker Breanna who was Greek at bama had some connections to get us a tour of her house and the DG house. It was so cool to see inside (and it was beautiful)...especially for someone who was Greek at a school without sorority houses.

Love the giant anchor in the front yard

I got dropped off in Birmingham on the way home from the Tuscaloosa trip and met up with Andrew and Perry. We got to stay at Hotel DeVore for a night (aka, Meredith and Elliott graciously let us stay with them on a weeknight). It was so great to see them and catch up. We traded a lot of Disney stories since they had just been down to WDW for vacation too.

With that I am signing off for a few days because I will be floating in the Caribbean, with little to no internet access (which is probably a blessing). I can't wait to share more about the trip from the other side.
