The one on Christmas Eve

We went to church on Christmas Eve. It was a simple and sweet service of songs, a devotion and the Lord's Supper. It was so great to celebrate our Savior surrounded by family and friends. There is no childcare for christmas eve service so Perry got to hang with us. Luckily I had plenty of back-up since Andrew was at work. Gina, Travis, Adrienne and Chad were sitting next to me and granna and granddaddy were right behind...so Perry was able to move around visiting with people, eating goldfish and reading books and staying perfectly entertained for the 45 minute service.

After church we went over to my grandparents for the annual Gibson family Christmas dinner. Andrew got off at 6 and met us there. We had a great dinner and it was so great to see a bunch of family that we don't get to see very often. Caroline was home from college and a two week study abroad in Italy (so jealous) and Uncle Greg and Aunt Debbie were in town from Texas for the holidays. Mommateen made her traditional and delicious peanut butter balls which I ate way to many of and we played Christmas trivia. Perry got to play with his second cousin, Collyar, who is almost four months old now. It is so fun to watch babies interact. Perry would reach out and try to pet her.

We got home about 9, but a tired little boy to bed, and got ready for Santa to make his arrival. We helped Perry by putting out some cookies and milk.

Then it was off to bed for us to dream of sugarplums and our first Christmas with Perry.
