Concert in the Park

Monday, June 2, 2014
Tonight was the first summer Monday night concert at Big Spring Park. After work I met up with Andrew and Perry and our friends Richard and Madeline for some dinner and gelato at Sam and Gregs on the square and then walked over to the park to listen to the concert. This is the best time of summer because it is still pleasant and not too crazy hot in the evenings. I honestly couldn't tell you the names of the bands that played, but they were good and played fun dance and funk music.

We had a great time visiting and laughing and people watching. Perry loved all the different dogs that people had with them and the ducks in the pond and the dirt on the ground. He did a really awesome job of playing and staying right around where we were sitting without us having to constantly be holding him or having him on a toddler leash (although we saw plenty of those around).

While we sat and talked we kept seeing people walk by with food from the food trucks. Now we had already had plenty of pizza and gelato for dinner, but Madeline and I decided to walk over and see what all they had. And came back to the boys with a couple boxes of mini doughnuts from "Bigfoot's Little Doughnuts." I got a mix of the nutella and the honey/graham cracker. They were a-mazing and well worth the line we had to stand in to get them.

They were Perry approved as well. Excuse the blurry picture...iPhone photography is hard with a moving target like a toddler.

If you get a chance to go downtown one Monday night this summer you should. It is really fun. Hopefully we will get to make it back a couple more times before summer is over.
