Twas the night before the first day of preschool

Tomorrow is Perry's first day of "for real" preschool. For the past 18 months we have kept him home with either Andrew, me, a family member or a nanny. We are looking forward to all of the fun experiences that will come from having him in school, all the things he will be learning, and the flexibility it will provide to our schedules.

Last Thursday we had parent orientation and then Friday morning we took Perry up to Mayfair to meet his teacher and peers. His teacher is Mrs. Patty, who is awesome (she was Kate's teacher a couple years ago and we were hoping P would get to be in her class too). P seemed to acclimate to his class quickly and explored all the toys in the room. All the kids sat at the table for a little snack. There will definitely be a learning curve for P in getting him to sit still in a normal chair to eat...and not wander off cracker in hand.

It was a fun hour of just playtime and getting to know the setting so maybe it won't be so hard to drop him off tomorrow.

I know this momma will be a little sad and have some of those quintessential "my baby is not a baby anymore" thoughts.  But I also know Perry is going to have an awesome year with Mrs. Patty, and that she is going to love on him and teach him so much. And he is going to have so much fun getting to know his new friends.
