Walt Disney World Trip, Day 2

After the kids races were over we hopped a taxi back to our resort to rest and relax the rest of the day. We were greeted with lovely views of zebras from our balcony.

We had a lunch reservation at Sanaa, the table service restaurant right there in Kidani Village. Sanaa is inspired by eastern Africa which has lots of Indian influence. We feasted on rice and slow-cooked meats, but the real star of the meal was the naan bread. We ordered bread service for the table with all nine dipping sauces to try. Naan bread is a kind of indian flat bread that is thick and chewy, and oh so good. Of note, Perry's kids pizza was also served on naan bread and I think he thought it was the best pizza he has ever eaten. We happily ate carbs to our hearts content knowing we would need fuel for our race later that night.

The views from Sanaa are incredible and we literally ate while watching zebras graze outside the window. We didn't specifically request a window seat because I didn't want to hold up the process of getting a table, but we got one anyway which was a really nice surprise. You can request a window seat when you check in.

After lunch we wandered around the resort a little bit. Granna and Granddaddy arrived not long after that. We were so happy to see them! Perry took a good nap while Andrew took his parents over to Animal Kingdom to get their park tickets activated. Later that afternoon the Eckleys came over too so that Ben, Kate and Perry could spend the night in our room with their Granna and Granddaddy. We knew immediately that it would be a lively night for them as Ben, Kate and Perry started rough housing and playing together in the room.

They all had fun eating dinner and playing at the pool and watching the Auburn game while Matt, Emily, Andrew and I got ready to run 10 miles. We were so appreciative of their willingness to keep all three kids so we could all do the race together. Though as 10 pm neared we were all beginning to wonder why we didn't just do the 5k earlier in the day and be heading to bed instead of to run.
