Walt Disney World Trip, day 9

Monday, November 10, 2014
All good things have to come to an end, including disney world trips. But we had most of one more day to spend in the parks before heading to the airport. Our flight home was actually early Sunday morning so we took Magical Express to the airport late afternoon on Saturday and spent the night at the airport hotel.

We got up early Saturday, got our bags left with the bell hop and checked out and met up with the Eckleys for an early dining reservation at Crystal Palace before the Magic Kingdom opened. The best part of those early reservations is getting to take photos in a near empty park.

I had ordered P an official ear hat from the Disney Store online prior to the trip, but got it embroidered while we were there at the Chapeau in the Magic Kingdom. I love the classic gold font. They were happy to do it on a pre-purchased hat for just a couple dollars and about 10 minutes.

I must admit I wanted those pictures of him looking at the castle in his ear hat so badly and they didn't just happen the first try. Remember the kid does not like hats. There were a about a hundred outtakes to get those precious shots.

The photopass photographers that were out were so great and spent lots of extra time with our family and played around with magic shots and getting cute pictures of the cousins standing and jumping in front of the castle.

Breakfast at Crystal Palace was really fun. The food was good and meeting Pooh and friends was awesome. Perry loved them. He could have just stood there leaning on Eeyore all day, we had to pry him off.

After breakfast Perry and I went to go meet Rapunzel and Cinderella. Perry had a thing this trip for hugging characters. It was so so sweet. I know there will come a time when running up and hugging Rapunzel will not be his thing.

We also had fastpasses for one last ride on two of our favorite rides: dumbo and the minetrain.

We left the park because it got crazy crowded (hello columbus day weekend) and we were done with everything we wanted to accomplish for the trip. We had a little time left before our Magical Express bus was set to pick us up for the airport so we hoped the monorail over to the Polynesian Resort to check out the construction happening there and get a dole whip at the Pineapple Lanai.

We made it to the airport, go checked into our hotel for the night, grabbed some dinner (ignored the fact that Auburn was losing a football game), hit up the airport disney store for one or two more souvenirs, and got a little more disney magic in the form of Frozen being shown in a hotel auditorium complete with complimentary popcorn. Perry was so excited to get to sit and watch his favorite movie. And we literally laughed out loud at one point when Anna, Kristof and Olaf were being chased by the giant snowman and perry exclaimed loudly "oh dear!" We had never heard him say that...and have no idea where he has picked it up...but it is so cute.
