Beignets and a Baby Shower

Finally. It is beginning to feel like spring outside. The mornings are still frigid. I about lost a finger to frostbite running early this morning. But mid-day it is glorious outside.

It has been a pretty low key weekend around here. Perry and I went out to brunch together yesterday at Another Broken Egg because we woke up, were hungry, and figured why not go get some beignets. He was a perfect breakfast date. If only he were always that good at restaurants. Multiple people stopped to say how good he was behaving.

Yesterday was also Joanna Eckley's baby shower at Embassy downtown. It was a fantastic excuse to put on the first sundress of the season. We haven't seen Joanna (and Brett) in ages since they moved to Texas, so it was great to see them and help celebrate their baby coming in June. The shower was so cute and the food was amazing.

Can't wait to find out if it is a little boy or a little girl. Congratulations Joanna!

After the shower us girls hit up a nearby consignment sale before heading home. Meanwhile P was at home with Gary. He was supposed to be napping but apparently he was not interested in rest when there was Granddaddy to play with. So he went without a nap yesterday. Needlesstosay he was miserably tired by about 6:30 pm so we played it really low key last night with a quick pizza dinner, bath, some tv time and bed.
