Happy Birthday Andrew

Andrew turned the big 31 on Saturday. We had a fun weekend celebrating his birthday both evenings, first with family and then with friends. Saturday night we met up with family at Ichiban for some hibachi food and cookie cake. Hibachi is so fun with a big group. The kids loved watching the cooking happen and of course the fire.

I let Perry pick out Andrew's cake out of the idea book at the Great American Cookie Company and he picked the pirate themed one. So Andrew had a pirate 31st birthday. lol. It worked out swimmingly because unknowingly Ann and Gary had bought him a tie from MD Anderson with pirate ships on it (a pediatric cancer patient's art work). We realized this connection at the ball field Saturday morning so then the Eckleys had to go out and find something pirate themed to carry the theme through. So Andrew is now the proud owner of a pirate tattoo sleeve. I am sure he will get days and days of use out of that. : )

We all enjoyed the big pirate cookie.

Sunday night we invited a bunch of friends over to have dinner and dessert at the neighborhood clubhouse. The weather was perfect for dinner al fresco. The pool is technically open but still frigid so we just sat under the pavilion and talked and laughed and ate pizza and cupcakes. P was a willing helper when it came time to blow out the cupcake candle.

Love these people. We had to get a group picture. Which when you take it yourself I suppose is best called an "us-sie." We did pretty good for 10 people in the frame. Although two of those people are pretty small.

All the boys tested out the lounge chairs for the first time this season. We had the whole area to ourselves all night pretty much. So happy for pretty weather and long days and Sunday nights at the pool with friends.

Happy Birthday Andrew! Hope you had a fun weekend of celebrations! Here's to 31!
