Smashed Potatoes

Smashed Potatoes. That is what the official gameday buttons said the one single week we made down to Auburn this fall. With our travel and work schedules we just couldn't make more than one weekend work.

But we made the most of it and it was a really good time. It was Idaho State we were playing (hence the potato pun) so it was a pretty chill and relaxed day on the plains. We set up a reputable tail gate right by the library with a view of the stadium right over the TV. Perfect. And what was even more perfect was the fact that we had parking spots right next door.

We grabbed some bbq house for breakfast and catered Mike and Eds for lunch since the game thankfully had a mid afternoon kick off. It was a good Auburn food day. And other than eating we just hung out with friends all day. Perry played with this cute little Auburn cheerleader named Caroline, and they decided corn hole boards were more fun used as slides than any bean bag toss game.

Kristen came and met us in Auburn for the weekend. She has made it to at least one Auburn game a season since she moved down south. It has been so fun teaching her to love Auburn (showing her the good path). We saw Aubie go driving by on his golf cart up towards the Alumni center and we followed him up there for a photo. Perry has gotten super shy with Aubie this year and has needed some coaxing and company in the pictures. I think he is star struck.

The game was fun and we were able to pull out a win...and bowl eligibility. War Eagle!

After the game we headed down to Toomers with our package of toilet paper for some rolling. Perry got to roll Toomers himself (well not so much Toomers as some little trees right next to Toomers) for the first time.

It was an awesome weekend. We are hoping that this year will be better in terms of getting down to Auburn for some games. Our weekends are going to hopefully be opened up a lot more here soon for weekend trips.

And we are hoping the football being played down at Auburn next year will be improved as well.

Until next September...War Eagle!
